Deck Coatings & Resurfacing
Liquid-applied coatings and resurfacing systems renew a worn deck surface while rebuilding the waterproof layer — when the deck underneath is still worth restoring.
Seamless Protection
A liquid-applied coating cures into a continuous surface with no seams for water to work into — unlike sheet goods with joints.
Renew, Don't Rebuild
When the structure is sound, a coating or resurfacing system can restore a tired deck at a fraction of a full rebuild.
Prep Determines Longevity
Coating performance depends on surface preparation and moisture content. Skipping that step is why coatings fail early.
Coating and Resurfacing Situations
A coating is only as good as the surface under it. Coating failures rarely start with the coating. They start underneath — moisture trapped in the deck, inadequate surface prep, or a substrate that is moving. Applying a fresh coat over any of those just delays the failure.
Moisture testing comes first. If the deck is holding moisture, trapping it under a new coating can make things worse. We check before we coat, because a coating applied over a wet substrate will blister and peel from below.
Repairing versus replacing an existing system. Sometimes a system can be repaired at a specific area rather than replaced entirely. Whether that is the right call depends on how widespread the failure is, whether the substrate is sound, and whether the original system was detailed correctly. We will walk you through which applies to your deck.
